Dave Allison Hockey Journey EP 105

My next guest, Dave Allison is a well-known and respected figure in the world of ice hockey. As a player, he had a solid career that spanned 10 years professionally, spending time in the American Hockey League, the International Hockey League, as well as a brief stint in the NHL with the Montreal Canadiens. Mr. Allison showed he had some offensive potential in Juniors with the Cornwall Royals as well as a few years when he was a pro, but there was something else that drew him in, that he specialized in, and it has to do with two guys, leading with their fists. If you look at his career penalty minutes, when you see numbers like 298 minutes, 302, 332, 337 and 407 penalty minutes in a season, you are choosing to be a professional hockey fighter. We'll also be talking about his coaching career that first began with the Muskegon Lumberjacks in 1986 where he was a player-assistant coach. In addition to being the proud owner of an uncommon amount of different home addresses around North America, his coaching career still continues today, as his latest gig was in Alaska last season. But at one time, he was again at the top of the mountain, when he was the head coach of the Ottawa Senators. That's where I first crossed paths with Coach Allison, when he was the head coach of the Senators American Hockey League Affiliate, the Prince Edward Island Senators. It's going to be an amazing interview as Coach Allison is a personality and great storyteller as you see. So settle in, thanks for stopping in, enjoy the show and have a wonderfully productive day!!
