Peter Worrell Hockey Journey EP 102

My next guest, former NHLer Peter Worrell, has a big presence when he enters a room. With a height of 6'7" and weighing 230 pounds of lean muscle mass, he probably wasn't very fun to play against. One of the most feared heavyweight fighters in the NHL back in the day and I was fortunate to be able to play with "Big Pete" when we were down in South Florida playing for the Florida Panthers.

Mr. Worrell is a Caribbean-Canadian who moved from Barbados to Montreal when he was 3 years old. His hockey journey was more challenging than most, being a black man playing in a mostly white sport. That's only part of the story as like all hockey players, there's ups and downs each and every season. Peter had his share of difficulties along the way, one in particular being, what would his eventual role be on a team, point producer or NHL enforcer?

It's been over a decade since I've seen or talked to this former roommate on the road of mine. I can't wait to reconnect, hear his hockey journey and how he eventually played in 391 NHL games scoring 19 goals and amassing 1554 penalty minutes over a seven year NHL career. That's a lot of scrappy doing!!

We'll start at the beginning and work our way through his life, ending with what he's doing today and who's benefiting from his guidance and experiences. I know you're going to Love hearing Peter Worrell's hockey journey. Thanks for stopping by, enjoy this episode and have a wonderfully, productive DAY :)
